Fire hose is a hose used to transport high-pressure water or foam and other flame-retardant liquids. The traditional fire hose is lined with rubber and wrapped with linen fabric. Advanced fire hoses are made of polyurethane and other polymeric materials. There are metal joints at both ends of the fire hose. You can connect another hose to extend the distance or connect a nozzle to increase the liquid spray pressure.
Correct use of fire hose
1. Open the fire hydrant door and take out the hose and water gun.
2. Check whether the hose and joint are in good condition. If they are damaged, they are strictly prohibited to use.
3. Lay water hose towards the fire site to avoid twisting.
4. Connect the end of the hose close to the fire hydrant with the fire hydrant. When connecting, insert the connecting buckle accurately into the chute and tighten it clockwise.
5. Connect the other end of the hose to the water gun (the connection procedure is the same as that of the fire hydrant).
6. After the connection is completed, at least 2 people hold the water gun and aim at the fire site (not to people, to prevent high-pressure water from hurting people).
7. Slowly open the fire hydrant valve to the maximum and put out the fire by aiming at the root of the fire site.
8. Connect the fire hose. When the fire hose is sleeved with the fire hose interface, it must be padded with a layer of soft protection, and then tied tightly with galvanized iron wire or throat hoop.
9. Use of fire hose. When using the fire hose, the fire hose with high pressure resistance shall be connected close to the water pump. The fire hose filled with water shall be prevented from twisting or sudden bending, and the interface of the fire hose shall be prevented from collision and damage.
10. Laying of fire hose. When laying the fire hose, it is necessary to avoid sharp objects and various oils. When laying the fire hose vertically to a high place, it is necessary to use the fire hose hook. When laying the fire hose through the main traffic road, it should be padded with the fire hose bridge protection. When passing through the railway, the fire hose should pass under the track to prevent the fire hose from being crushed by the wheel and interrupted water supply.
11. Prevent icing. In severe winter, when the water supply needs to be suspended on the fire site, in order to prevent the fire hose from freezing, the water pump needs to run slowly to maintain a small water output.
12. The fire hose shall be cleaned after use. The fire hose conveying foam must be carefully washed to protect the adhesive layer. In order to remove the grease on the fire hose, wash it with warm water or soap. For the frozen fire hose, first use it to melt, and then clean and dry it. The fire hose that is not dried should not be stored in rolls.
